Ludovic Geilich Leads after UKIPT Birmingham Main Event Day 2

There are a few hours left until the beginning of the PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour’s (UKIPT) Main Event Final Day, and the competition has been fierce so far. Currently, Ludovic Geilich has finished the Day 2 of the event as the chip leader among the final 22 players left.

The second day of the 2016 UKIPT Main Event was full of action from the very beginning to the end, so that only 22 players were left in the competition for the champion’s title along with the cash prize of £35,000.

Until now, Ludovic Geilich who is currently the chip leader in the players left for the event’s final table, was not know widely in the live poker arena. To date, he is most famous for winning the €1,100 Buy-in UKIPT/ESPT Marbella Main Event and taking home a prize of €130,000 after he managed to outlast all other 762 players. However, after this victory, the player is best known for his non-aggressive style of play.

Of course, Ludovic Geilich has also taken part in a number of other poker events. Three years ago he participated in the European Poker Tour London’s Main Event and ranked on the fourth position, winning a cash portion of £193,340. In 2015, he won the Main Event of the Genting Poker Series Newcastle, and this year proceeded with his successful performance by winning the $1,600 Buy-in event at Wynn Classic and managed to occupy the seventh place in the Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller tournament of the 2015 WSOP.

As already mentioned above, Ludovic Geilich ended Day 2 of the event as the chip leader with a massive stack of 697,000 chips. Two other British players – David Clarkson and David Wilkes – are on the second and third positions, with a total of 498,000 and 428,000 chips, respectively. The players who occupy the fourth and fifth position in the temporary ranking – Nathan Manuel from the USA and UK’s Jake Cody – have equal number of chips, and are followed by Krishna Kagaraju with a total of 342,000.

The positions from seven to ten are also occupied by UK players, including Jeremy Wray, Timothy Chung, Teymour Sabet and Adam Owen, with the latter holding a total of 276,000.
